Still going strong....

After the 5 miler on Thanksgiving day, I was able to do 8 the next day and 5 the day after that. With 3 days in a row, with 1 being a race, I took Sunday off.  Tonight ( Monday ) I'll head back to the gym and get at least 5 miles in.  3 days on, 1 day off seems like a good balance if I can keep it up.  If anything, its more days on than I'd like, but I'm really getting paranoid about the big race.  I've read so many stories about people who did great up until mile 20 and then just fell apart.   I'm trying to find the balance between getting enough rest to be fresh and healthy, and getting enough miles to build my endurance and mental strength.  When in doubt, I'll tend to add  miles and subtract rest days.  That's dangerous for me as I have a tendency to get injurred and have never been known for being good at limiting things that I like.   If things ever get really slow and I get into my history with alcohol, you'll understand what I mean.  So...I'm off to the gym for an easy night, and I'm hoping to get another 20 miler in tomorrow.  I'm bring a change of clothes and lots and lots of bodyglide.

just don't stop running.....
